What Ever Happened to the Stork?

Yep, we're expecting a baby in June. Anyone know of a good stork still in the baby business? This "carry-it-yourself" for 40 weeks method leaves a little something to be desired. Yes, I've been converted to the week system. Whenever a woman used to tell me she was 25 weeks along (or whatever) I would always think to myself, "you know we've all learned to keep track of time in months for so long, why change now and make me do math?" Then when she becomes a mom her child is 20 months old. Great, again with the math. Oh well, I guess I'll join the ranks of women who enjoy making people do math in casual conversation. I'm 10 weeks along and really looking forward to that 2nd trimester I hear such good things about!

CONGRATS!! Hurray for babies!

Having no experience I don't know a good stork, but let me know if you find one. :)

Has the morning sickness gotten any better? I hope you're still thinking of coming to Kentucky for Christmas. :)

Thanks Everyone! Yeah, the morning sickness has kicked into high gear the last 3 days, but opposition in all things right? Bring it on. Kind of.

Congrats!!! How exciting! Little Holden Higgies running around, how fun. Is it going to be a man-child or woman-child? Might be to soon, I guess. Names yet? I suggest staying with the double H. It has done Holden well thus far. Maybe Hagatha Higginbotham?, Hickory Higginbotham?

Hope all it well out east.

Chow,
Kirk

Congratulations you guys! That is so exciting. That first trimester of pregnancy, and then some, is no fun but you do start feeling normal after a while. I hope you havent had nausea and stuff too bad.

You couldnt PAY me to redo my first trimester! It is still so fresh in my brain! My advice is lemons. I dont know why but citrus scent totally dulled the nausea. I drank enough lemonade to kill a person. And on one sad occasion I found that SNIFFING the KFC moist towlette did wonders. Pregnancy made me totally weird, what can I say! You'll feel better soon hopfully. And if not, at least you will get to feel the baby move around soon (around 16 weeks or so) and that helps you get excited again! I love your blog, keep posting!

Congrats! I agree with Kirk...Hickory Higginbotham has a great ring to it. I think it would fit for boy or girl! Excited to see the blog and see the good news!

Hooray! The first trimester was definitely the worst for me, too. At one point I was only able to eat Hot Pockets (blegh!) and oatmeal. We bought the cases of oatmeal from Costco! :) So that's my two cents. And I totally agree with Christy--when you feel the baby move it makes it all so wonderfully real! And the ultrasounds are AMAZING!!! Congrats!!!
