Last week I began working with exencephalic mice for the first time. Exencephaly is a defect in the closure of the neural tube like spina bifida, except that it occurs at the head rather than on the back.
As I examined these unfortunate embryos I found something vaguely familiar about their appearance. Then I realized where I had seen these before.....and the goofy theme song has been stuck in my head ever since.
